and the reason for the bubble effect on the background?

Stops you lot having a go about the real ones when we try and stick it up!

Love the outline on the peeps Chris, great use of contrast. And I didn’t even notice the bubbles! Nice sign though Chris, should look great on the new unit.

I like it and will be sure to keep an eye open for that one next time I’m in Blackpool.

Just one thought. It smacks of a washing powder box, is that delierate ??

you know thats just what we said when the final design was coming together – ‘looks like a soap powder ad’.

wasn’t deliberate, just one of those things. but if it worked for lever brothers…

next project is a full wrap on the roller shutter door, not sure the landlords are going to approve with what we have in mind though!

    Great stuff Chris

A sign like that should clean the area up (washing powder!)
An Aeriel view that should daz the ‘omos
    Did you say bubbles!
Depends on the condition you put the fabric on

Fantastic Chris! Looks great (although I imagined it to be bigger 😕 ) One small question, why are you headbutting it? And why is your fellow signman assisting you to headbutt it? Was it that hard to fit? 😉 😉

Seriously though, it does look cool. Are you going for the wrap on the shutters? If you do, please please please post some pics of that as well. I have the ugliest roller shutter known to human kind on my shop, and its screaming to be painted. A wrap would be better though 😀 Do I smell a demo cooking? 😉

    Alfie isn’t headbutting, he’s screwing!

Alfie is an unfortunate client who turned up just as we were walking the 100 yards from the old workshop to the new unit to fit the sign. Serves him right. He’ll ring next time.

Colin is attempting to look efficient by holding the bit that Alfie’s screwing.

Would have been bigger you know, but we’ve had to fit into an existing bog-standard industrial park sign frame. All the units have the same size 900 x 3000 framed ply signboards up.

We’re not exactly the most conformist of chaps but we don’t want to upset the landlords too much just yet!

Got two enquiries off neighbouring businesses whilst fitting though!

The design for the roller shutter wrap is coming along nicely. Plenty of gnashing of teeth, screaming tantrums, hair-pulling, objects being thrown across the office at each other etc. All part of the normal design process down at Fluid Edge.

Hmmm, sounds like an average day in my place atm 😉

Good to hear its drummed up more business for you as well, its amazing the amount of work you can get working on the outside of your premises. I was painting the front today, a special shade of bright blue (sounds yukky, but its really quite psychodelic!) and I was asked whether I could do safety signs. After a long pause of, oooooh, 2 seconds I asked how many how soon 😉

Hi Chris it sounds like the sign is a winner already 😀

    Cheers Pete

Oh yeah just a quickie, whats the max platform height of the ladder being used in the picture
    and do you rate it?

    Hi Pete,

The platform ladder was bought from Focus DIY for £49 last year. Can’t think of the platform height (maybe 3ft?) but it folds into a pair of stepladders or one bloody long ladder.

So good, we bought another one.

Invaluable for big vans etc., and folds up nicely for storage and transporting.

I spotted something similar in Screwfix @ £119; glad I haven’t parted with any money yet 😀
