Hi guys, just curious what people use for everyday printed vinyl- media size.

Im arm wrestling with my supplier atm for better prices but they are playing hard ball which is forcing me to look at other options.

Im capable of printing 1.6, lam 1.4. I currently use 1370 media. Im wondering if going down to 106cm (55 quid a roll less) would be wise and would it actually save money in the long run, as when a job is say 1.2 it would need to be rotated therefor using more material.

Also do u use same size lam as printed media? Atm im matching both at 1370.

My supplier is saying i should use a lesser grade vinyl to save money but its HOP grey back which aint going to work for me with window graphics.

Any info is much appreciated.

I use 1600mm print media as we have the ej640 but have my laminate cut down to 1580mm by supplier which saves a lot of time as I never have to trim the edges before contour cutting. Love the extra width as we used to run 1370 but now find can print large panels in one hit.

Strangely we went the opposite way.

We can print 1600, laminate 1600 and cut 1600.

Although we mainly print, laminate and cut 1370 :smiles:

Most of our work is vehicles, so it fit’s on 1370, or mounted boards. We 1600 mainly for large banners but they’re few and far between these days.

    In my workshop I have:

    1370mm MD3 and MD5
    1600mm banner
    1525mm Arlon SLX
    1220mm Metamark M7

Plus some rolls specially ordered by clients.

Not a fan of meter-ich roll.
My mission is to keep less variety of different media in my workshop.

I can print 61" but other than cheap 3yr avery mono for 10×5 indoor advertising boards, Banner, and poster paper I stick to 54" materials – mainly because my cutter and laminator and 1400!
