We used 18 oz flex face and printed 400 dpi solvent ink to produce this banner. We seamed it with our Kabar rf seamer.

We used 1/4″ lock bolts that fasten to the concrete then leave a threaded shaft for a nut and a washer, that way each time the ad is changed we can use them for the next banner.

If you look about the middle of the truck windshield you can see a horizontal seam. We printed the bottom section 8′ and the top section about 2′-8″ to allow a fold for grommets.

We did make some money on this job it was needed next day and it took our sign crane and a hammer drill and two workers to install it. It only took a couple of hours to install, and not to many shops could complete this job.

    Great banner 😀

Maybe it would have been an idea to use a ‘tension system’ instead of attaching directly to the bolts so as to keep the banner tight and looking ‘smooth’. 😕

    Just an idea….

We have purchased a tension system to test it out on our own shop wall, we have not used one yet so we need to educate ourselves. I agree it would be the premium way of installing a large banner.

I bought mine on the internet. I paid 10,500 Dollars which I am told is a good price for a used machine. I figure I could sell it for about 17,000 a new machine is about 30,000 in the US. If you buy a used machine some fragile parts need to be removed and shipped seperate and a technician should set the machine up for you. It would be a good idea to find a tech close to you as possible and it may help you decide which brand to buy.
To get our machine serviced we need to fly a tech in and pay for his ticket and hotel, food, labor etc…
We bought this type of seamer because you can seam printed faces without damaging the print.
