  • Printable clock supplier required, sources needed please?

I’m currently trying to prototype a product, a portable sign, which will incorporate a clock.

Being protable, the clock face would be better being behind a plastic face. I’ve a printed clock on the wall here from an autospares supplier, it’s perfect for the job… but can I find them anywhere. :bangshead:

Does anyone know of any suppliers, who can supply a wall clock, we can print the face ourselves, either dye sub or digitally.

Looking for something similar to the attached.

I got something similar from argos. Was a basic clock that I dismantled and printed an insert for my sons room. Cheap as chips 🙂

I used to make clocks as a giveaway to some of my customers. Mechanisms are readily available to buy on line and in bulk quantities

Am guessing you have tried magic touch and xpres? Subli supplies may also be a shout.

    Cheers for the tips.

i’ll look at Argos, never thought of that.

dye sub blanks seem expensive for what they are, and probably ott for what I have in mind.

I contemplated that method Phil, but as the boards will be transported, the hands will probably get damaged rendering it useless. I could use a digital clock, but think analogue would look better.

Maybe cover the clock face with clear acrylic held in place using Chrome stand off locators?

The movements can be bought from cousinsuk.com.
They have a good selection of movenents. These are the ones I use at my other job are these –

When you assemble the clock it is easy to over-tighten the centre nut which can cause it to loose time. It is better to do finger tight and glue the movement to the dial to stop it rotating.

There is probably a list of ways to do this when we put our mind to it. I love the limitless creativity that comes with being in the sign industry. Things many would never think of like "making a clock" as your demo shows Phill.

How many do you want to buy?

Or trade supplier printing direct onto acrylic, then add a movement.

I made this from an IKEA clock a few years back.

Think from memory it cost me just over a pound.

Will be adhoc, and each individually printed, so not worth getting in bulk.

Needs to be cheap(ish) and have the hands protected, I’ll look at Ikea/Argos
