    Hey guys

I’ve got the VSi-640 versacamm printer, I’ve never got this woking to the point I can just print a graphic, laminate it the next day and contour cut it after.

It’s got to the point where I think I would rather cut complex graphics by hand.

Firstly, after i’ve laminated a cut, I line up the registration marks and and run the head along to make sure they’re inline, I then set the base point just before the first mark, this seems to find the first mark easy, the first issue i’m getting is, when the head goes along to find the second mark, every so often about 15cm ish, it moves the media slightly, it keeps doing this to it gets to the end, by then the registration mark is not inline.

    Anyone had this issue?

I never touch the base point just make sure it was a machine cut before printing and always picks up the marks. There should be 80mm between the front marks and the front of the media.

Be quicker to call, just having some scoff

    Hi Dan.

I’m due to come and see you soon so I’ll check it out for you then. In the meantime, I have a great ‘how to’ guide on doing just that. Unfortunately I can’t take any credit for it as I just found it online once.

Let me know if you’re stuck.

    Stafford

I had similar problems with all my Roland machines. What we did was cover the registration marks with app tape before laminating & trimmed out the tape before loading back in the machine. This works 99% of the time. If it struggles to find it, switch on the torch on your phone & shine it at the sensor as it passes over the mark (you’ll have to stick a wedge in the sensor so you can do this with the cover open. Every sensor on every machine I have is disabled with a little piece of cardboard, hope I’m not the only one who does this!) bit of a pain to do this but better than f####d prints. Hope I’m not teaching you to suck eggs.
