Pricing on big boat graphic
Posted by Paul Rollason on March 1, 2005 at 9:47 amHi all
We do a lot of boat names but we have been asked to do an 8m x 500mm web address down each side of a yacht in the water.
I would be interesting to see what other people charge for such a graphic.
Thanks

quote :in the water
as in floating on the wet stuff not on a nice safe dry dock? the only boat I’ve done afloat was a canal boat on the sides, £400 on land, not a cat in hells chance on the water :lol1:

Morning Paul
Hope you and Jules had a good drive home. Regarding your graphic. For that size, the minimum I would be looking at would be £590 + DANGER money.
I hope that helps.

hey mate,
we used to do the yachts in the Global Challenge yacht race and let me tell you its bloody hard graft. as a guide i would charge no less than £500 for the graphic you described if not more if its in the water. and a tip is if it looks straight – it is straight
good luck

price seems about right……….
dangle over the side with someone sitting on you legs……..no worries
serious comment from fiona is:
we would charge about £500 – £550 and you should be able to do both
sides of the yacht from the pontoon. do one section with the bow line
eased and the stern line in tight, and then the next section. then get the
boat turned round and do the other side. or if it is a low enough freeboard
you could do it from the deck like andy has suggested. (ps have fitted waterline stripes to a 115 ft boat, once out the water and then when they
changed the colour we had to make a floating dock and re-do it in the water…) -
Hi Mackerelbus……
Fiona the yachty one suggested I post the stripe image in the gallery…..
done in the water … [lower ones]Cheers

Cheers guys for all your comments
We have just fitted the first side
god that is a big thing to put on the side of a boat
luckily it is only letters so top hinge and fit one letter at a time.
Back in a minute to fit the other side
I’ll show some pics when it’s done

Paul, out of curiosity did you use “standard” vinyl? as we have done this for a few years and found “banner” vinyl to stand up to the job better! especially on “speed” boats and wet bikes.
