  • Price For Removing Vinyl

Ive quoted £70 – £90 to remove graphics from a Citroen Despatch. They have been on just over 2 years and there isnt much there to be honest.

I reckon about 2 hours work. Does this sound right?

I hope so, because its booked in Tuesday!

Yeh, should be fine if it’s been done in a good vinyl previously.
    ie. one that peels!

Quick heat up, bit of picking then a clean up with the solvents of your choice.

If feeling generous – a light buff over with some t-cut on a mop.

I charge £35-£45 an hour for stripping so the same as you. It’s less than you make on ‘work’ but all part of the service. The only thing that takes extra time is loads of small individual letters…then it’s ‘punishment duty’ for the trainee at the time.

If you are not familiar with heating up to strip….just get it to ‘car on a hot day’ at the VERY most otherwise the glue may split from the vinyl…also too cold…may leave the glue behind. (Worse with cheapo vinyls). And only do a section at a time.

It looks good vinyl, its been on three years and very little fading. The bonus is there are no small letters, its all atleast 3" high.

Ive done removals before but as part of the overall job to refit.

I offered to fully machine polish the van (at extra cost) as he is returning it to the finance but it was declined.

    Hi

Rob has a demo on removing vinyl. Maybe you have seen it?

And i would charge 50 pounds extra for machine polishing the van.

Ive got a friend who recently charged a customer £250 per van just for removal of old vinyl before signing the van again…..When we said 250 I was amazed anyone would pay that much…..

Whats your opinions on this? Based in London so don’t know if this effects price.

By the way the van is an IVECO – LWB

For small letters you can’t beat an MBX Machine.
