Poster paper supplier
Posted by Mark Shipley on December 9, 2004 at 10:01 amHi,
Does anybody know of a supplier of heavyweight (200 – 250gsm) coated poster paper that will take eco-sol inks?
I need it like yesterday, to print some posters for weekend.
Thanks for your help.

hello Mark
I use LFOT From grafitype slow 2 dry also but very heavy and good results, i found i got better results too if you slow the head speed and print in unidirectional
only problem over here in spain the rolls are not a standard size for the versa i have to get a roll cut in half, maybe different in the ukpost back with what paper you end up with be good to know if different to the one i use
have a good new year

Hello John,
Many thanks for the reply.
I have got some 200gsm coated poster paper from Doro. It takes ink really well especially on ‘variable’ producing vibrant, saturated colours but it does take a while to dry – approx 4 hours.
I print uni with a 35oC print and 45oC dry using the Metamark MD5-100 profile – it works really well.
It’s great for posters, but I would like a paper slightly heavier, say around the 300gsm mark, but I guess you can’t have evrything at once 😉
All the best for the New Year.

we have some paper in stock, 2 types not sure where we got it though… must have been b&p when we bought the machine. both heavy but one has a sorta silk finish, gives great print results and the other was dry before it came out the machine. im sure the silk finish one was fast drying too…
on another note, although i havent tried but “paper co” owners of europoint display must sell it… well ide imagine so anyway? 🙄
one of the largest paper suppliers in the world 😀 -
They have a minimum order and it aint low as I found out.

do you mean paperco mate? you dont need to spend it all on paper though, i wouldnt imagine, just buy some paper when buying vinyls, or application tape..etc 🙄
