    Hey guys,

I have an upcoming job and I have a few issues I’d like your opinion on.

First up I have to resign the back of a tray truck. This tray is the type that folds over and hits the ground. It has two bits of steel that come out which I’ve outlined with red circles. I basically need to float coat this whole back with a dark Grey. This and the top lip of the tray hit the ground. The other bits don’t. I think this would easily allow the client to also replace graphics when they do in fact get damaged and they can be created in house and easily installed on site.

What I propose to do is get three color bond sheets cut to size and fitted to the tray to give me a fairly flat working surface. I can then easily apply the graphics to the back of the tray truck.

I don’t really want to wrap the back of the tray as is. I think it will really distort the new graphics that are going on top of it.

My second issue is I basically have to semi wrap that mini tanker. The sides of the tanker I can’t see any problems with. It’s the back its a concave shape. Have you guys got any suggestions on what position I should start in and which way I should squeegee the vinyl? I don’t want to have creases developing. I’ve attached two images so you can see how concave it is.

    Thanks
    Jason

they are not the easiest to do Jason…

best thing is to start from the vert or horiz middle and work out. If you start from the top or bottom, you’ll have ‘issues’ at the other end. By starting in the middle, your less likely to have a big problem with spearing.

The back will be hard because of the ‘button’ and if you are trying to make is seamless from sides to back, it will increase the difficultly many fold.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks drew,

I just tried wrapping one of mums pots. lol she isn’t too happy that its now blue but it went well.

I basically started from the centre and worked in a circular motion and heated as creases started to develop as suggested here: https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … ave#181604

This pot is a lot more concave then what we are going to do. Hopefully we don’t hit too many problems or else were going to have to spray the back. Joy!
