I@m not really a fan of web-banners/ signatures, they’re usually over-filtered pics that have little done to them.

practically anyone can get their hands on photoshop and a random picture, then filter it,

Don’t get me wrong, I used to make some banner/sigs similar to this and am a huge advocate of CG, but I just feel that they don’t have much personality to them, and most seem a little “trendwh*re-ish”, I’d like to see some stuff you’ve done that has a little more than a few filters added. maybe some logos or whole website

Well done Graham, very impressed myself. I don’t use PS at all, so I may be easily impressed I suppose, but that said, each gets the message across in a clean colourful fashion, which end of the day, is what most clients are expecting and asking for.

Are these paid jobs, or just something that you played around with? Most clients I deal with on the website side of things will favour price over creativity everytime unfortunately.

    Thanks for sharing.

    http://support.proboards.com/index.cgi? … discussion

i suppose you could do battles on this graphics design forum lol if any one was interested.

you just need to start by using a form like the one below

    i.e

    Theme:
What theme would you like the graphic to be based on?
    Type:
Is it a banner, signature, logo, Mini Banner, animation?
    Size:
What size would you like the graphic [In Pixels]?
    Colors:
Do you have a preference on the colours to be used?
    Renders:
Are renders allowed to be used?
    Stocks:
Are stock images allowed to be used?
    Border:
Would you like your oponent to add a border
    Text:
What text would you like adding and if so what?
    Subtext:
What subtext would you like adding and if so what?
    Font:
Would you like your oponent to use a particular font, if so provide a url to font
    Animation:
Would you like your oponent to animate the graphic?
    Oponents:
How many oponents would you like to battle with?
    Due Date:
By what date would you like your oponent to have submitted his entry?
    Other:
Are there any other important details?

I@ve taken part in some of these on various forums, we should start some here. maybe with a start image and work over it.

    ok, lets say:

    -Any program,
    -3 entries per person,
-Can be any distortion/implementation of the image/theme, IE: A sign featuring it/simple image distortion
-must be resized to a certain size , to be decided on creation of a thread,
-any other stock images used in the creation must be shown, a bibliography of sorts, … but with images.
-Deadline = a few days, again to be decided, enough to give everyone a chance.

I’m notoriously bad at choosing the start images, but I’ll try my best 😀
I’ll re-iterate this in the new thread, when I get round to it

perhaps the admin would consider putting a new board up for graphics battles?

with so many graphics people on here i can see it taking over the rest of posts……..
