• Polyproylene

    Having a fun time with this – NOT.

    Europoint (at least in thr South) – have never heard of it 🙄 – so have informed them that their Scottish friends sell it… as yet no joy 🙄

    My local plastics firm do stock it… but have informed me that it’s NOT flat and would not really be much use as a cutting board for vinyl due to this "irregular" surface…. BTW their price was £47.16 + vat for 6’x3′

    Where do people get theirs from ? – is it "flat" and so suitable for cutting and general sign work as a workbench "top".

    My only other option is to ring the Scottish Suppliers and get a quote for transport down to Essex!

    anyone have any experiences here ?

    Frank,hope it’s not a spelling mistook!It’s polyproPylene you’re looking for i assume.It’s a pretty common material so should be easily gotten hold of.

    I’ll update the heading 😎

    yes it’s a common material but the comments of my local supplier threw me regarding the surface properties – so just wondered if anyone could shed any light really…

    I did.. hence how i came to the decision on Polypropylene (sp?) 😀

    just wondered about those that use it, whether what you were supplied with is "flat"

    yep tried them… they couldn’t answer the question regarding the "surface" – and besides they have a minimum order of £100 for individuals …

    oh well… I’ll keep trying I guess

    Try access plastics, +44 (0)1535 658484, very good service and I’m sure they can help.

    Alternatively;

    Try saffron plastics, 01268 288874, not used them as of yet myself but they do list it.

    After reading on here I bought some to use as bench tops. Have to say I’m not overly impressed, it marks pretty easy and forms groves that the blade will jump into. Better than foamboard but not great.
