    Rob.

Where are the pm and email buttons gone.

Have I missed a thread explaining this?

How can we contact people who require a quotes?

Someones asked the board for a quote for stickers,
We look like having a decreasing auction for the job.
In my opion looks very tacky, 1 fellow member competing against another for the job.

We all moan about the forever lowering of the prices for our work, this will only promote that..

    just my veiw.

I have to agree with Becky on this looks very tacky but what else are people suppose to do if there is no other way to contact the member looking for a quote, on the plus side though it must be great for the member doing the buying if all of a sudden someone can almost half their quote.

Sorry guys, doing my best here :lol1:
Apologioes, but there was various board modifications made on Wednesday & Thursday night. One which makes the buttons disappears outside certain access memberships. So basically nothing has really changed for you/anyone with the introduction of this new group. It just makes things more secure & easier at my end to moderate the site.
The immediate problem arises with only “some” of you, because I have to one by one add you all to this group called “Contact” before the buttons become active again, I have been adding members since late Wednesday night. Around 50-70 members can see these already and have done since, it’s just taking me a bit of time to get through them all, sorry. Anyway, those who “should” see them will do over the next day or so. Anyone that wants to pm someone regarding a quote etc and needs the buttons now, mail me at uksigngroup@hotmail.com & I will allow you to jump the queue being added, not a problem.

If anyone would like any further info… please contact me using the email above.

Again, sorry about the inconvenience caused by this but all will be back to normally very soon. 😉

youve lost me mike… really dont know why you are getting that problem mate. are you aware that only a few forums allow this though?

    i.e.
“show us your stuff” for uploading your work for all to see.
“file swapping” for loading files etc
    and so on…

general chat forums do not allow this function, perhaps you have been in one of those forums when trying to upload an image?
if not, let me know what forum you get this with and ill look into it for you.

Don’t know what the fuss is about.
I thought the idea of the boards was to help each other. There’s no shortage of people recommending companies who supply banners, cutters, equipment, etc. but if you come on with a quote it’ tacky!!!
It’s only a Dutch auction if people keep dropping prices, someone wanting to requote to try and win the job is fine by me. I don’t do it as we work from a rate card and the price is the price is the price.

Could be quite a big fuss when one of your customers see’s the prices you are offering on the board!

That’s the point though, our customers would get the price that’s quoted here as we work from a rate card. Any longstanding customers who order regularly or in larger quantities get volume discounts as you’d expect.
On the auction side of things, my thoughts are if you quote then re-quote, why didn’t you quote the second price the first time?

personaly, i see the good in having open quoting and closed…
as far as our customers seeing the prices we quote, well this is trade prices we are quoting. i would never charge a customer (unless a big order) the same prices ide charge a sign maker. as a trade price you expect to loose a bit on it from the word go.
anyway… when you quote it is hidden in the quotes forum & olnly gold access and UKSG members can access/see those posts. joe bloggs looking in on the site, or registered users of the site cannot enter these type of forums.
