Okay, so its not so much playing, but this is driving me mad. Is there anyway of exporting from MS Word and importing into CorelDRAW? I’ve got to print 4 sets of 9 individual files on the PC60, all A4, all with lots of text 😕 Just wondered if there was an easier solution than typing it manually?

Can you not just highlight what you need in word, copy it and then go into corel and paste …… thats what I do …. and it works …. but I bet it won’t for you now I’ve just said that??? 😕

you can import the DOC file straight into corel, or as Carrie says, but i i find it better to click EDIT>PASTE SPECIAL then select the format you want i find rich text format and maintain formatting and fonts works well.

😳 😳 Just goes to show, I try thinking of some flashy way of exporting a file, trying different formats and getting all worked up… meanwhile there is a simple solution.

Thank you both of you… at least I’ll keep the hair on my head a little longer now :lol1:

Dewi, interestingly, and for future reference, if it is foreign text (I was sent a word file in Japanese last week) you have to change the text to ‘wordart’ in word to be able to cut an paste it to corel.

Corel will not convert the japanese text as win XP’s japanese font will only display in a microsoft product. If you cut and paste it to a non microsoft program, it comes up gibberish.

Converting it from wordart works because wordart converts the text to a graphic, and then corel will see the graphic.

Can’t you print it as a .pdf file and then import into corel. That’s what I’ve done before with images in word art.

I managed to transfer it all with copy & paste, but its worth knowing the other methods for future use. Its one of those jobs that give you a headache every time you look at them. Once its all be transfered into Corel, the envible task of laying it all out to print and what would’ve been 3 metres in cut vinyl from these files, is now 6 metres of print as the PC60 doesn’t have enough width to fit 2 up side by side 😕 It was either that or a nightmare of weeding tiny text for a few hours 😕

Oh well, on the bright side, only 3 hours before I set off to do the Ferrari, all my problems will disappear while I stress over whether Nigel asks me to put a scalpel near the car or whether I can cunningly get away with brew duties :lol1: :lol1:
