  • Photoshop – save to jpeg problem?

Posted by Nigel Hindley on December 6, 2007 at 12:15 pm

    Hi all,

This has never happened before and I have tried umpteen ways to get round it with no luck!

I have merged some images together and saved as jpeg – which saves and opens but when you try to import or open in signlab its unsupported jpeg option can anyone help me to understand why this is happening?

    Cheers,

    Nigel

You don’t mention what version of SL you are using, however you could try saving as a psd, eps or tiff. SL 7.1 will import all, I think earlier versions will import eps files.

    Hi Steve,

its 6.1 – but i have done this before – I’m sure but maybe that was on 7.1? anyway – i tried an eps and its just a block of ‘fuzz’, no detail at all in the pic!

I deleted everything and started again from scratch and still it wont do it? the jpeg does open independently?

Probably something very simple – but i cant get my head round it!!!!!!

have you saved it as CMYK or RGB, Signlab doesn’t like CMYK I think. Try saving the file as a RGB and then import it.

to change cmyk to rgb in photoshop. just click on IMAGE on the menu bar, then click on MODE and then select RGB COLOUR also set it to 8bit if its on 16bit. Don’t think SignLab likes 16bit
