yep your maths is about right and is an area where the edge paned the pc range but if you use it to its strengths ie very small stuff its the best tool and the profit high so swings and roundabouts.

i have a up to 1400 dpi solvent but still do some jobs on the pc 60.

Yes Steve, it certainly would cost that much to print 1 metre.

However that is with genuine carts, for the past two years we have been using non genuine carts from Renown Ribbons ( tel 01254 704330 ) half the price and yet to have a problem

as richard has noted…a pc60 is better used on smaller sticker runs the largest area i printed with it was 24″x12″, and the costs of ribbons starts from £5 depending on how many you buy, you just have to charge accordingly…they are a great machine to start into the digital side of things…but wrapping a definate no-no… 😀

unless you were after a banding efect in the design
may be it would look cool bands of colour running round a car in true pc60 style

When I first had my pc 60 about 6 years ago I did a double decker bus covered (not wrapped) in sweets sized about 1100 x 580mm for a radio station. It was only supposed to last for about 6 months but I still would’nt give a guarantee. It looked remarkably good and belive it or not I made a tidy profit.

I think I’ve seen the answer here somewhere, can’t find the thread, so can someone give me a yes or no to this….

Does PC60 print need to be laminated for outdoor use, and how long does the print remain good for?

Lorraine, I would say yes it does need to be laminated either with film/vinyl or laminate spray like frogjuice etc.

We have a pc600 and always use liquid/spray laminate on our prints ….. never had a problem with them fading etc.

when you use spray, do yo have to get it even, do you get a gloss/matt effect, or runs if it’s not put on evenly?

Spray sounds better, as I would be bound to trap dust, or a hair or something under a laminate… 😳

you can still get bits of dust when using a can of frog juice i like Carrie always spray on frog juice it make the print look much much better
it goes on very nice and very easy to apply bit harder on larger stuff due to the first area drying and not flowing into the next
