  • Patronizing your customers

We try to patronize our customers whenever possible. We are doing some renovations in our home, so we called up one of our long time clients. They specialize in high end, custom homes and office buildings. They have, also a "Small Projects" division which tackles small jobs and renovations. The main reason is so that they can always have work for their subtrades. We did a fleet of vans for them, so it was time to say thank you. As I said, they are a high end contractor, so we could probably have got someone cheaper, but then, we aren’t the cheapest sign company in town either. We are getting a worry free, top notch job done and saying thank you all at the same time.
    Do you do this too?

I try not to be too patronising, but some of them are so stupid, I really can’t help myself 😕

Seriously though – wherever possible, I try and buy from people that use us 😀

I do the same thing here, Duncan.

It’s how i got into this business in the first place. I was getting my first window cleaning van written. And the sign guy became my customer. 15 years later he’s retired and i’ve bought his business

I will always try to use people who are my customer, seems only right and it works both ways – I had solar panels fitted a whiles ago and now I do their vehicles, signage and garments and that scenario has happened several times 🙂

I always support my customers. Partly because we have a working relationship, partly because its easier to look up contact details on my computer than finding the Yellow Pages…….

……..and partly because it usually ends in a cashless barter deal, to everybody’s benifit 😀

I used a builder customer of mine…he did a terrible job and I was left with his terrible job to fix and lost a customer.

    With you on that Cheryl

I do try to use my customers were possible but I usually try to get a look at some of their previous work before hand, or an idea of how good they are from other people.
