  • panatrim framed sign to be fitted to a mesh fence?

    Hi,

Have a couple of ideas as to how we think we should go about fitting a panatrim framed sign to a mesh (criss cross) fence …… but, I would like to get some more opinions please or are there specific fixings out there for something like this or has anyone done a job similar? We obviously want a nice professional finish and dont want it to look just slapped up, if you know what I mean?

    😀

Edit: Sorry I said mesh .. its Chainlink mesh fencing …. 😕 criss cross – diamond pattern

Did a similar job a while ago and we used some 3mm anodised aluminium plate cut to the same size as the back of the Panatrim. We offered the sign up to the fence and on the opposite side we held the plate, then used pop rivets to secure.

Thats the way we have been thinking … but wasnt sure if this was a good way or not or if there were specific fixings out there …… we have been known to go the long way around some jobs only to find out afterwards a much easier solution. 🙄 It should be secure enough aswell shouldnt it?

Depends how tight you are in the cost of rivets. Suggest 1 rivet every 300mm. This way the fence should collapse before the sign does 😀

We use recycled ones from old jobs ….. does that qualify for tight?? 😮

    :lol1: I am joking honest ……. really I am!!!

Much appreciated Dave, you have set my mind at rest that this is the best way to go.

Just curious as to how you riveted it??? I have just fitted 2 signs to similar at a farm and fixed using screws to a pressure treated timber batton. I was suprised as to how long the screws needed to be, thats why I question how you riveted it.

Used 10mm long rivets and used a pop rivet adapter that fits to a electric screwdriver so no problem getting the thing to ‘pop’.
