P. Fenton: Truly Scrumptious : Shop Signage
Posted by Phill Fenton on June 17, 2012 at 3:00 pmA series of three signs that I just fitted today in a busy high street. Traffic wardens are a nightmare so I decided to fit these today (Sunday) in order to get my van up close to the shop. This is in a conservation area where the only signs permitted are of a certain type (e.g raised lettering).
All lettering is made using 5mm Gloss PVC fitted to ivory coloured composite aluminium boards.

Phil, how did you fit the sign without any visible fixings? They look almost as if they’re inside window frame type structure, unless it’s my eyes.

Hi David
The screws used to fasten the locators were long enough to go through the composite board and into the wooden backing. It’s these screws that are holding the boards in place on the fascias

I’d never have thought of trying that.
I personally think signs always look better when there’s no fixings visible.
Looks real good.

All done on your own router Phill, that is fantastic. Well done to you sir :thumbup2:

really nice Phil.
I do like raised lettering, so much nicer than flat vinyl. think I need to work on getting a different customer base!
