• oval sign questions

    Hi folks ive been asked to create an oval shape sign for a local garage a kinda ford logo shape would best discribe it although its not for ford.originAlly they just wanted vinyl but the thought of trying to put vinyl up there that size on a windy day was a no no .i suggested i cut the shape out of foamx and do before i put it up or would i be able to cut dibond with a jigsaw

    I made 2 oval signs this week, i cut them out of dibond with the jigsaw, turned out really well

    What kind of blade andrew? Iwas thinking of buying a colered board from robert horne if its easy to cut

    I normally use a laminate blade which gives a nice clean cut and as the blades are designed to leave both sides of the laminate with a nice clean finish there is little in the way of de burring to do. Only thing to watch out for is the blades are quite thin which makes them great for cutting shapes but more prone to wandering off line if you don’t let the saw do the work and try to push it along to hard.

    I just use a steel cutting blade, think its 21 tpi IIRC we wee run round with a de-burring tool and job done.
