• Outlook – How do I?

Posted by Carlos Cavanagh on February 4, 2006 at 12:01 pm

I request quotes from my four suppliers of perspex via e-mail.
How can I send the same email to all of them but make it look like it’s only to each recipient?
I tried to send to one and BCC the others – Perhaps I should send it to myself and BCC them all but it pretty obvious.
    Any ideas? 😮

CC = Carbon Copy (everyone can see who it was sent too)
BCC = Blind Carbon Copy (no one can see the others)

    Hope that helps

or even just CC it and let them know your sourcing it from other places 😉

I had a bloke send me an email today requesting a quote on another sign guys artwork.

I was not interested the minute I saw that, AND the fact that he had cc’d it to 6 other sign shops on the same email…

I just ignored it. I don’t mind being treated like an idiot, I just ask that you don’t make it to obvious 🙄

Exactly what I mean. In this competitive business I have to shop for every penny but I’d like to be polite about it. Like Reagan said: “trust, but verify”
It would be great if they all received an email that looked like it was for them only. The CC’s and BCC’s give the game away immediately.

There is a free program I use called YAMS. It mail merges emails and the person is non the wiser that others got the same email.

Thanks Shane! I couldn’t find Yams (got a bunch of recipies) but I did find one called “send personally” that does just that.
I’ll trial it out & see how it works – Had to go from Outlook Express to the full Outlook, though. 😕
