Gone and done it now, seems I’ve torn the ligaments in me knee 🙁

No idea how I did it, laid up all day yesterday with me knee in a kinda bent fashion….

Was better today so I went to work.

note to self: no more ladder work for a little while! I didn’t realise how much you twisted your knee when going down a ladder.

Went to the doc this morning, after he twisted my knee to test his theory, he had to work out how to remove my hair stain from his ceiling…. 👿

Doc reckons it is probably as a result of an injury when I was a kid playing aussie rules.

Anyway, off-loading ladder and tressel work to local sign shops, but trying to do my regular vehicle work. Got a bus on Thursday that requires a bit of kneeling, could be a long day 🙁

Alright to walk on although it is really sore, but getting up and down is a whole new challenge and level of pain.

Docs talking about operating, but I don’t have top health insurance so this one is going to hurt my wallet as well as by business….

Ouch!….you said it Shane! Sounds painful. You’ll just have to take it easy and try as far as you can to keep weight off it. Easier said than done I know, but looks like you may end up having no option. 🙁

Seriously Shane, have you thought about employing people to help you out, you’ll have less money and a great deal of strife but a least at times like these you’ll be able to keep your business running and get your ailments sorted
A few years ago I slammed into the side of a car on my Honda super Blackbird, hospitalised for three weeks and bedridden for 3 months, the business carried on because I had good people around me, in fact I couldn’t claim for loss of profits on my insurance because the company made more money when I wasn’t there!!! 😕 Anyway mate if there’s anything you want to know about knees..I’m yer man.

Stoped, playing soccer and kickboxing coz i had a ligaments rupture on my right knee. All sorted now but cold days always make me remember those days.
I can just imagine what you’re going trough.

As Paul said, might be a good ideia to employ somebody for those jobs even if it’s till you get better coz that’s the kind of injury that if you hurt yourself again before being 100%, you’ll regret it till the end of your days.

Hope your recover is fast. Take care.

I think we all should wait another 3000 posts=jokes from Shane in half time then before. :lol1:

I have a Torn Cartlidge, (don’t think it’s as bad as a ligament)
but there are moments when I can’t use mmy right leg, Quite disconcerting, I spent about 1/2 an hour on top of our walk on van because it happened.

    Hope it gets better soon,

I’m sure it wont put your customers off, not with the quality you always seem to produce.

    Thanks everyone, appreciate that.

Yesterday I rang my contract fitters, and they helped me out with a few fiddly vinyl jobs that I needed to do up a 3.6m ladder. Checked them out last night, one is a bit crooked, I’lll see if the customer notices….

Passed on a $4000 job yesterday, got no thanks from the sign shop which is annoying.

Rang a good mate of mine who is on a disability pension (suffers manic depression) and asked if he was looking for some work to keep him busy, and he jumped at the opportunity, so I may have my ladder work sorted.

I’ll ring my regulars today and see if I can work something out with them.

The leg seems OK today, I’ll see how I go……

Cheers agian, thanks for the encouragement.

It gets better 🙁 had Xrays today and they have discovered spurs on my knee too.

Anyone know what they are? and how you get rid of them?

    Radiologist both unhelpful and uninterested..

Hi Shane, at a guess I would say the spurs are bony growths, like projections causing grating & pain? (may be completely wrong of course… 😕 )

Are you taking anti-inflammatory painkillers? Those & rest are probably the only treatment short-term.

nothing yet until I go back to the Doc. I am a brave soldier tho Lorrain, I only complain about the pain a couple of times a day (7am to 1pm and 1:15pm tp 9pm ….until the beer kicks in :-?)

Ah, but analgesia is a secondary effect of anti-inflammatories, their main use is to reduce inflammation-that’s why they are better than, say, paracetemol, which do nothing to reduce swelling etc.

You unbuckle them from the back (a bit like a leather watch strap). All cowboys wear them though, so I wouldn’t be taking them off if I was you..Yeee Haaaw… :lol1: :lol1:
