my kids use offcuts for covering school books, and anything else it will stick too !!
i’ve used it for decorating my kitchen bin and laundry basket,
holding together a shattered car door glass before attempting to get it out,
covering the joins in the 8×4 floor boards to keep draughts out,
band aid plaster (works ok but is probably as close as i’d like to come to hair waxing !)
colour coding bottles of adhesive remover and app fluid which all look the same !

I believe they used to record sound on it (!)

Cleaning dust off me work bench.
Covering up bright dash lights in the van.
Err holding the van together, got a hole or 2 in 😮Steve

Im using vinyl to do most of my daughters Year 11 GCSE Graphics project and most of her friends projects too :lol1: -
i use my scraps for putting over eds mouth…when hes off on a rant, but i get a better laugh when i try to take it off :lol1: :lol1:

You know when your favourite pair of trainers gives you that open dog’s mouth look that normally means you throw them in the bin…..
Well with new improved ‘vinyl runners’ I can run further and harder for longer.
Classy look for 2006 ? 😎

Its good to see a teenager grovelling for something, gives you a sense of power…….Mwaaaahaaaa haaaaa 😮
OK Im going for lie down now 😳 -
Lol, 2 of mine are just bordering on the teenage years, it is nice making them grovel when they really want something, and i love being able to still say no an hour later !!
trouble is, my little girl seems to be able to overpower my will power !
talking of little girl, and vinyl uses, she decided to wrap my remaining 4 rose heads with red and yellow vinyl offcuts, she thought it was pretty, i thought it was almost amusing that the petals all stuck neatly to the vinyl, but best of all,
the vinyl cleared up an aphid infestation that i didnt even know waht there til i looked at the sticky !

Rather than paint the front door of my house I wrapped it in green vehicle conform vinyl and stuck metallic gold 7yr vinyl over the faux window beading – it looked really great, fantastic gloss finish and very durable.
Thing is though, I moved house in January and I wish I could see the look on the new people’s faces when they come to strip and re-paint the door :lol1:
For anybody who doesn’t like painting it really is a great way to save time, effort and energy.

OK Im going for lie down now 😳My 10 yo son has formed a conservation group at school – he is worried about the environment, but you wouldn’t know looking at his room 👿 – watering and planting flowers at his school. Got the headmasters support and about 15 kids interested.
Reading the school newsletter I see it announced that I was donating badges for all the members. 🙄
Spoke to the son, says “oh yeah dad, told em you’d print individual name badges for eveyone”
No grovelling or anything. Just dobbed me in to the school. But the real worrying thing is that I appear to be raising a greenie. Oh the shame! 😥
I used to give all my scrap tape to the local kindy, but I generated more than they could use so now I turf it away mostly.

Dear “turning Green” of Australia, you should be grateful you found out the the truth, even by reading about him in the school newsletter, it is a hard thing but you know you must standby by him what ever the decision and don’t force him into anything such as rehab, because these things can really haunt lads when they get older. you need to respect his decision and hope its for the best.
Youngsters need to make mistakes and i know this is a critical decision and affects the whole of his life ahead but he will now be a lot wiser, try to break the habit by showing him how to be “non-green” you know the usual things like throwing your food wrappers out on the highway, making sure that your non degradable waste from your sign making business goes to some worthy landfill site.
I would say just stick by him at the moment, make the badges as best you can and with a spirit of generosity and help him out as much as possible because then you will be seen as the trustworthy reliable parent and so if he gets in more trouble he knows he can turn to you.

Thanks Chris, I actually knew about the ‘greens club’ he formed at the beginning of the year. We encouraged it because he was upset that their play area always looked ‘dead’. I have supported him 100%, he is a really good kids that takes life very seriously.
The badges are done, and they look good. He is pleased as I am sure the school will be too.
But I am hopeful he remains balanced in his approach tho. Looking at his room indicates that it may just be the case. If that however becomes pristine, and he remains ‘green’ minded, I think I’ll be in trouble 😉

My 13yr old lass did a similar thing – volunteered us to make a 1mtr x 1 mtr vinyl and pvc creation for the new school hall, it gets better, now the teacher of something called RMT “Resistant Materials Technology” has organised a class competition, on the back of this, with prize winners having the best design coming down to the shop and making it. So in November we have 10 kids coming down to the shop to make their own signs. Well its one way of using up the end of rolls and off cuts!
