yes,
orafol 5400
works well on vehicles, though not suitable for everything i do (small stuff),
a little tricky to weed, you’ll need to hold down corners / edges when taking away the waste.

unlike most standard reflectives the oracal stuff has a gloss polyester laminate on it. i prefer working with this type because it gives a much nicer finish, applies pretty good and when removing you have a much better chance than that of other standard reflectives because the gloss laminate helps hold some of the reflective vinyl together and comes back off the vehicle in larger bits. this has always been a big issue with regular type reflectives because once they go on they only come off in tiny bits and takes for ever to remove. but there is certain angles you must pull it back off to achieve this.
the downside is for very small reflective graphics it doesn’t weed as good like hugh says… this is due to the polyester type laminate not cutting as freely as the vinyl on its own. -
thanks for that guys, it is for stripes so weeding is not an issue.

Hi all,
I’m also looking for a reflective vinyl for a vehicle job. Combination of large single colour logo and lettering.
How you you feel this will fair up to the job?
Or could you suggest and other makes and models?
Many thanks,
Dan

i have loads of this stuff and its great, as Rob says its gloss shine is way better than its competitors if you put them back to back with say a reflective mactac 9800 the difference is amazing.

i use it to and think it is the best we have found, but i always cut an ordinary vinyl and place it underneath the reflective just for ease of removal!
cheers

I only use 3M Scotchlite.
I tried the Oracal once (and I usually love Oracal products) and it was the hardest to weed vinyl I’ve ever used.
I returned it to the supplier because it was so bad I thought it was defective. (it was engineer grade) They told me all engineer grade vinyl is that bad.
😉
For stripes it might be OK but I would never use it again, personally.
Love….Jill
