Oracal 551 series
So I went and built all my vinyl storage racks to accommodate 610mm wide rolls of viny….
..and what do Oracal do?
They do away with 610 wide and start producing it in 630mm widths instead (hot) 😕

i thought the rolls were 1260 wide and the suppliers slit them to 610, losing a little bit as they go,
in the past, when i used vinyl corporation, when i’ve ordered a full roll, i would ask if it could be slit at exactly half the full log width -which they did- and this then eliminated the waste, ie, i could not cut a full 610 instead of 585!

I have recently had small quantities of both 651 and 751 series
at 630mm.I assumed it was because they slit down a 1260mm roll remnant.

I have just had 6 full 50 meter rolls delivered of 651 and all 610 ??

the number of times i have wanted 20mm roll.
must be 0000s of them in the bin 🙁 😮ps sorry about the racks looks nice

I had five rolls of 651 last week and two of those were 630.

Was talking to one of the RHG guys a months or so ago. It is due to the rolls being slit from a 1260mm wide roll as Chris said. They’ll be doing it forever more. Pity about the racks Phil.

well that’s quite odd I have been told the widest cut vinyl in oracle is 1220 🙄 so all my 1/2 rools are 610

Can’t you sqeeeeze that extra 20mm in Phill (as the actress said to the bishop) Just checked my racks and they will take a 630mm roll……phew

No Lynn, Definately 1260mm wide rolls.
