I have tried two different types of optical clear vinyl a 3m product and pop75cg. I printed on to both of these on my HP Design jet l25500, using Wasatch rip. I also printed a sample onto our standard clear vinyl. I used the same profile on all 3. it was a poster paper profile recommended to use on the pop75cg material. When I had backed these all in white and applied to a window I couldn’t see any difference. I also then tried my standard clear vinyl profile but still I couldn’t see a difference.

I thought the idea of optical clear vinyl was to make a more vibrant image am I wrong? Am I just using the wrong materials or profiles?

    Thanks

if you was to print on clear laminate only it would have a haze to it if used on a window.
Cannot see any benefits of using optically clear if backing up with colour

As Chris has said, optically clear means you can see through it clearly as opposed to the hazy vision on normal clear vinyl or laminate.

Covering it in white defeats the object of using the optically clear vinyl, as you can no longer see through it!

It does not increase the vibrancy of printing.

its a cheaper alternative to glass printing, but u do really need white ink for business plaques
