• omega 2.6 problem

Posted by Neil Churchman on January 25, 2008 at 3:54 pm

We recently upgraded to Omega 2.6 and successfully installed the software on the PC with everything running fine.

For some reason we now have a problem with the spool manager (job queue manager) and the plotter will cut one job and following jobs are stuck on the spool and will not cut.

The only way we can get it working is to manually delete the job from the spool list before it will allow us to cut the next job.

any ideas how to solve this? 😕

Click Start > Programs > GSP OMEGA > Sentinel Config to open the Sentinel System Driver Configuration Utility.
2 Click Configure Driver to open the Sentinel Driver Port dialog box.
3 Configure all parallel ports (non-USB) to say No in the Use? Section. All USB ports should say Yes.
4 Use the Edit button to go to the Configure Port dialog box and change the Use this port? To Yes or No. (No for parallel ports, yes for USB ports)
Note: If your system has a third party port, you may need to manually configure the address using the Add button.
5 Click OK to return to the Sentinel System Driver dialog box.
6 Click OK to restart the computer so the change will take effect. On some systems, you may have to restart manually

try this and see…usually sorts the issue

    Phil,

Thanks for you help with the Omega problem

I’ll try it out over the weekend and see if it works out.

Co-incidence you being form Ontario as I bought the software from ND Graphics and they were un-able to give me the technical support that I needed to solve the problem.

    thanks again.

have to spend a lot of $$$$$’s with ND to get free support…..ask me how i know..kidding..they are reasonably good..
i’m originally from outside aberdeen, scotland, been over here 11 years now..just 2hrs north west of toronto..right on lake huron..

the latest omega will be out shortly..they fixed the sentinal issue so we won’t have to do it!
    good luck
    Phil
