    Becky:

Gerber were demonstrating OMEGA 2.0 at their exhibit at the ISA Sign Expo in Las Vegas last week…and it looks fantastic! A large number of the improvements made are based on suggestions from OMEGA users, like yourself.

    Would this be via Spandex?

If and when Spandex start selling Signlab I don’t think it will mean the end of Omega.

    Kevin,

As Jon has already indicated, the software was “officially” announced and debuted “publicly” at the recently completed ISA show here in the States. The intent was to have it shipping this Monday, April 14th, but that has now slipped to Monday the 28th. This is of course for Gerber customers here in the States. Not sure about the release schedule for Spandex customers in the UK or ND Graphics customers in Canada. Companies always like to make some nosie around trade show events, perhaps something will be announced around your big show? And perhaps not! 😮 😉

As for hearing “good or bad” on the software, yep, I’ve heard both. Not surprising is it! Some will be excited, some will disappointed, but almost everyone will have some opinion I’m sure. Keep a look out over at the Edge site once it hits the market place, I’m sure you’ll get great insight into what the “users” at large think about the product.

Following Jon’s link to Gerber’s pdf on the product will give some details as to what’s included.

Omega 2 , is an excellent piece of software, I have been using it now (beta) for 2-3 months and the improvements are good. Formatting small text and a new detail edit, to name a few things. Goto gerber’s web and download the pdf file. Spandex will most likley launch at Sign UK in May along with some new materials for Maxx2 and possibly a new inkjet (again).

As far as i see Spandex will be charging for the upgrade.

Just got the FULL version, ie Finished. Installed yesterday, it comes with a new USB security block which you must use, which includes transfering / deleting your old block, Which went very easy.

Hopefully Spandex will have more info soon.

Just wait to you see the Edge’s BIG brother, it’s a lazy man’s edge……NO changing foils, just sit and wait….BRILL.
Cant wait until Spandex get the PVC banner sorted for it.
