Ok its about time I stopped lurking and said hello !
Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself. I’ve been meaning to put an introduction post here for a while, but every time I come to the site I find something interesting to read and get sidetracked.
My Name is Dave, I’m 29 ,from South London and for the past 18 months I have been offering my services as a sign maker. Until now I’ve had a colourful employment history mainly in the fields of graphic and industrial design. I got involved in making signs by accident really.. .. however I find the combination of design and fabrication so enjoyable. It also makes a welcome change from sitting in front of a computer 5 days a week with square eyes !
Anyway enough of me ranting on. . . you guys have a great community feel to this site, and I look forward to contributing in the future. .

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
John I’m currently working from home in Croydon. I am at the difficult stage where I am getting too busy to continue working from home, yet I’m also having a hard time coming to terms with the responsibilities and commitment of renting a business premises. Another factor is finding the right location, at the right price. I know of one local Industrial Estate with 3 or 4 sign makers all next door to each other. Croydon does seem a little saturated by sign makers. Fortunately most of my work comes from old design clients who are based all over London so I don’t think I’ll be stepping on anyones toes.

Dave your just a couple of miles from me (wimbledon), and close to Rich hes out of Croydon somewhere.
