  • Odd question for anyone in Newcastle area?

Posted by Gavin MacMillan on December 21, 2007 at 11:27 am

A slightly odd request but we are all heading to Newcastle in the new year, end of January, for our staff night out as one of the guys in away in aus at the minute so were not bothering with ‘mad Friday’ tonight.

Anyhoo the plan is to go down for a long weekend and have a night out and hopefuly catch a show or something. But also while were there we will be being extremely sad and checking out ideas for signs and fitting. I’m wondering if there is anyone in the area that can give us some pointers on interesting stuff to see. It seems there is a lot of public art around so were going to check that out as well.

If anyone wants to make us a coffee it would be nice to meet up with someone from here and share some ideas and see how other people do things. 25-28th of Jan we will be in Gateshead.

    Thanks

    Gavin

A little bit of both Marcella! We are keen to see some new things and get inspiration so if you fancy sending me the details Rob I’ll pop round and take some pics – maybe not at night though as the inspiration may have turned to just getting pi**ed by that time 😀

would be interesting to see how the ashby LED’s are holding up though…
one fascia was indoors in a shopping mall at one side of the shop, the other was outside on the street. could be a live product test the led’s :lol1:

Very nice. Not the kind of job we seem to get asked for and therefore exactly what we want to be spending our time looking at! If I see it I’ll let you know if you have a catastrophic LED problem 😀

have a look here Gavin………………a few ideas for you

http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Tyne_and_Wear/Newcastle_upon_Tyne-307942/Nightlife-Newcastle_upon_Tyne-BR-1.html ….check out the "the things to do tab"

The Quayside is the place to go on a night time…..plenty of restaurants & bars…………..stay away from the Bigg Market though it’s not what it used to be

I hope you enjoy your stay….there’s plenty to do & see……..some beautiful countryside & coastal routes only a 15 minute drive from Newcastle city centre…………..Baltic art Gallery on the Gateshead side of the river……….the infamous Multi storey car park that was featured in Get Carter (thankfully getting ripped down shortly)

We are one of the top ten party cities in the world but as I say there’s still plenty to do & see that dosn’t involve drinking
