You can assign a cost to a given object/s, highlight these objects and it will total the cost. You can add other value to objects and different fields. Basically its a database on objects.
I’ll do a simple step by step if you want.

I’d be interested in that too Alan. Do all my design work in corel.
Thanks

Not too radically though Dave. I’m finishing off a job this morning and I’ll do something this pm. I’ll use X4 and keep it simple.

For this example put 3 shapes onto the page with different colours – say 3 oblongs yellow, green and red
Open Object Data manager (window – dockers – object data manager)
From docker open field editor (2nd icon from left)
Click ‘cost’ and then change
numeric is probably already selected
choose£0.00, if this is not available double click ££"$"#,##0.00 and in the ‘create’ box change to £0.00 and click OK and close the ODM editor box
Select yellow object and click 1st icon (spreadsheet)
From within the box click under name and you will be able to type in a name in the name box under the file/edit/Field options/preferences headings
Click the empty ‘cost’ box and type in a cost in the top box which has changed from Name, the £ sign is not required. Other boxes can be ignored.
Name should show what you typed in with the cost next to it and the total showing the same amount.
Close box and repeat for the green and the red putting different amounts in for the cost.
Clicking on each item will show the values in the docker.
Select all items
open the spreadsheet window, items will be listed, if no total click on cost tab – field option – show totals.
You can duplicate one or more of the items of the items and whichever items are selected they will be in the spreadsheet with total.
This may work for some when pricing a job

Objects which have been assigned with values can be pasted into other documents and a file saved should retain the values.
I wouldn’t mind betting that the Object Data Manager is not used by many but can be quite useful for pricing
