NUR revolutionises wide-format digital print with portfolio growth

Led by its new successful management team, FESPA Berlin gave NUR the opportunity to debut the latest additions to its UV-curable printer family with the launch of its innovative NUR Expedio 5000 Revolution and NUR Expedio Inspiration UV-curable roll-fed printers. With four new machines making their debut, this investment in portfolio growth confirms the company’s position at the forefront of the design and manufacture of wide-format digital solutions, with many orders for the Revolution being placed prior to the exhibition, and all systems attracting a very high level of interest.
In addition to these two new roll-fed UV-curable printers, NUR also demonstrated the recently upgraded NUR Tempo Q which offers enhanced features for printing direct to rigid materials. For the solvent-based market, NUR introduced its entry-level Tango.
Designed for high-volume production, the NUR Expedio 5000 Revolution is a 5 m roll-fed printer which utilises UV-curable inks and offers speeds that are four times faster than its solvent-based counterparts. This machine also enables four times the ink coverage, thus enhancing the cost-effectiveness of using UV-curable ink technology.

Also unveiled at FESPA was the NUR Expedio Inspiration which is a 3.2 m UV-curable heavy-duty production machine that outputs at speeds up to 110 square m/hour and offers a maximum resolution of 800 x 635 dpi. Designed for users wanting fast throughput onto virtually all roll-fed materials, the Expedio Inspiration also has the option of an easy to change flat-bed module for print providers wanting to output to rigid substrates.
All NUR’s UV-curable roll-fed printers now have the option of an auto-correction double-sided print feature for added versatility. This facility means that users can output high quality back-lit and block-out applications at speeds of up to 120 square m/hour, with the choice of an automatic or a manual on-the-fly mechanism. This maintains front-to-back image fidelity with a deviation of no more than 2 mm on a print 25 m in length.
The popular NUR Tempo Q flat-bed machine has also been designed to produce higher quality and faster throughput, with a maximum speed of 100 square m/hour, along with excellent colour density and finer results. Able to output direct to rigid substrates and roll-fed materials, its optimum resolution is now 1270 x 800 dpi.

The NUR Tango has been introduced as a 3.25 m cost-effective solvent-based option which outputs at 82 square m/hour and is available as either a four- or six-colour printer. Incorporating an integrated mesh printing mechanism, the Tango prints onto a wide range of materials, either roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet, with fast switching making easy to change media.
All of these printers at FESPA provided an excellent line-up of machines for users wanting to produce the boardest selection of applications both cost-effectively and reliably. Typical output includes high quality point-of-purchase, signs and displays, billboards, scaffold and building wraps plus vehicle curtains and graphics.
Thibault Dejaiffe, Marketing Director, NUR Europe, comments: “FESPA Berlin proved to us once again that NUR now has the most comprehensive family of wide- and superwide-format printers currently available. Our leading flat-bed machine, the NUR Tempo Q, continues to gain in popularity amongst customers wanting reliability, quality, speed and a good return on investment. We’re finding increasingly that existing users are returning for additional machines to enhance their production capabilities and we are also receiving a growing number of enquiries and orders from companies entering the flat-bed digital market for the first time.
“As the first company to introduce a 5 m UV-curable printer with the Expedio, NUR’s popularity in this sector has also shown a marked increase in interested both for this size and for our 3.2 Expedio machine,” continues Dejaiffe. “Our current portfolio of products emphasises the growth in demand for UV-curable output, and we now have solutions which cater for all flat-bed and roll-fed requirements.”
Complemented by its new management team, led by Andy Middleton as Managing Director, NUR Europe is also introducing additional distributors throughout its European territories to cater for increasing demand, with the first announcements covering Spain, France and Scandinavia.
