    Hi folks,

Having nozzle drop out on one of the magenta channels on VS 540 every morning for last 3 days.

Machine prints fine through the day. All nozzles fired up. But each morning after a manual clean theses nozzles are gone. Same ones. Put it through a powerful clean and they came back.

Am guessing cap top station has moved slightly and it’s not sitting on the head correctly, but before I call Roland is there anything else this could be?

And yes I know, cheap paper in the machine this morning and we had a wee scuff. Not helping the situation am sure.

One of several things it can be…normally associate with air getting into it.

Poor seal on the capping station (replace)
Split pipe from base of cap anywhere through to waste.
Damper seal failed / manifold spigot cracked.

I see it when I’ve had fluff or a hair on a cap…can take a manual ink pull to re-prime the waste pump…then perfect.

Cheers david. All suggestions where spot on.

Thankfully Roland just so happen to have our yearly check over today.

Could of been damper, could of been cap top station.. could also be the wee pin the sucks the ink through if they get a bit blocked up but I believe this would cause drop out when printing also.

Anyway will find out tomorrow if we have the same issue.

Just in case anyone searches the form for a similar issue I’ll update.

Next day magenta panel was gone again. Did a clean. Lost every channel in some way shape or form. This didn’t improve.

New head (as we had worked that one to death anyway) and new pump fitted and we seem to be ok. All running at the moment anyway.

Pervious all the wet cleaning parts had been replaced and a new set of dampers in each channel.
