Its a Mini Pickup rolling shell. It was meant to be my next Mini project car after I finished the last one but I didnt have the time to give it the work it deserved so I let it go.

Its been a nightmare, been trying to get the thing collected since Thursday but because im the drivers last pick up before Stranraer (spelling) I get the late night!

Nice car Paul – my first car was a mini van (reg no. NSY285).

I ached to have enough money to customise it properly. I ended up hand painting it using brush paint and fitting banded steel wheels (5.5 x 10) but couldn’t afford wide section tyres (165/70) so ended up fitting 145 x 10 tyres with inner tubes to force the side walls to make a seal with the steel wheels.

It was a death trap – but happy days all the same 😀

Everyone at some stage in their life should own a Mini. I yearned for a Pickup but could never afford it. As soon as I could I bought a good shell and built one from scratch. The idea was to make it look standard but go silly underneath, £10,000 later I have what is basically a race car with a standard looking Pickup bodyshell.

we had a good customer in our place today complaining at the loss in value on vintage cars and cars in general today… he has a fair size garage and lots of lovely cars… hard working man and pulling his hair out this weather.
    bloody shame really…

With the pound being so weak at the minute I am regularly being asked to export. I think this one has just put me off for good though!!

Its a scary place along here on the night. The yard is pitch black, everything is silent and my printer has just run a self clean causing me to almost fill my pants!!

I had several mini’s in my 20’s-still have very fond memories, especially of my little automatic, that went as fast backwards as it did forwards!

    Oh happy days :lol1:

I had 12" wheels on the front and 10" on the back of one of my Minis.

Looked strange but, by Christ did it get round corners quickly. 😀

To echo Lorraine – happy days.

I’ll see if I can find some photos, especially the one of my car upside down and not touching the ground. 😀

This is the one that went last night

And this is it when the project started

I would have loved to fix it but just didnt have the time or money. Had to choose whether to rebuild my 911 or do the Mini. Ive already got a Mini Pickup so this had to go.
