Some may have noticed new buttons, alterations on the ticker tape, (scrolling text on home page bar) arrow keys and more here on the site. Basically, in the background we have been very busy upgrading the site. Not so much visible to everyone, more streamlining for new comers, myself & ultimately making this a better site for everyone.
In a nutshell, the site has grown so much it is now very difficult for me to run it and help our visitors day to day. At present the site takes upto 20 thousand plus, visitors a month from around 90 countries. It’s a daunting task when I log on at night to sift my way through anything from 30 to 100 emails. Most are just simple questions, while others require time.
I hope the new ways of running the site & the introduction of new areas will lighten my daily workload so I can concentrate more on giving advice, help, loading demos and working on the groups (UKSG) behalf.
We will be introducing much more very shortly. A new suppliers index will be getting developed over time, but will be open as of next week & we are also about to set some Video demos into practice for some feedback. (The first sign site “ever” to offer this) In the meantime, I do apologise for the lack of demos etc being submitted. This has taken some time & is an expensive exercise for the site. I will however get back on track as of next week showing many new features.More exciting news will follow for UKSG members shortly.

With regards to traffic to the site, all I can say is keep coming folks! We have been recently taking a daily average of 130+ posts per day and only the other day I thought we would beat our current record of 122 visitors browsing the site at one time. all i can now ask is that all those visitors start posting and we will burn up 😛 (hot)

I think your doing an amazing job, the boards are something to be very proud of!!! Our business and our knowledge of the industry has come on leaps & bounds mainly due to the information, tips, demos etc that are posted on here, it is an invaluable source especially for newbies.
We’ve met some amazing people on here … some complete nutters … *cough… Dewi …cough* Its great to be able to join a community that is here all for the same reasons … to share knowledge, learn, have fun & debate … 😆

New features to the site are looking great Robert 😀 I realise it must have been alot of hard work, but its sounds as if its paying off!! 130 posts a day! 😀 And only 103 of those are from me! 😉 😉 😉 😉
As Carrie/Stephen has said, met some fantastic ppl here, thoroughly enjoy the place everytime I log in and I hope it continues to grow as it has been doing 😀 More ppl that post, the broader the views, the more useful tips and the more chance of me being knocked off the “Nutter” list 😆 😆

Agree with the others Rob – you’re doing a fantastic job and all of us are reaping the rewards as a result 😀 It would be nice to see some more of the newer arrivals starting to post too (come on guys/gals don’t be shy 😉 ) There must be some more rivals for the Dewi out there somewhere 😆

Most rewarding thing I think I have ever done was going to sign UK. All I seem’ed to do was walk about and bump into folk that laughed and said “Robert Lambie.. My word you look so much taller than I imagined”. 😉
Seriously though.. I love running the site and I love how things are going. My only grind the last month or so is that with the size its growing too, I feel the site is suffering, because I can’t run it the way I wish because other areas (not seen) take my time. The new bits and bobs will hopefully half that workload and I can get things back in form.
i have tons of stuff to get loaded & share. 😛as fpr day to day on the site? god what a laugh I get out of you lot. Even today with JSK’s altered. image.
Then the Stuff from last nights truck post and so on… tonight? Well you all know me.. Sitting here drinking the hardest scotch whiskey with the strongest of beers! Ahem… ahem breezers, southern comforts and lemonade 😳 😳 😳 i have a sweet tooth, what can i say 😆 😆 -
