NOT one of mine, I’m happy to say!
Posted by Lorraine Clinch on April 23, 2007 at 4:03 pmI had a guy come in a while back for a quote for his van, ‘plain & simple, nothing fancy’ was the request, so he got the lowest quote I could give, with him fitting himself.
I never heard back, that’s fine, goes that way sometimes.
Today he parked near the shop, so I sneaked a quick photo of his newly signed van.

he’s bought individual letters and stuck them on himself ……………. what an eejit!!! :lol1:
-
jeez thats brutal, do you think he started on the back first? 😀
think youre better to have left well alone.
graeme

You should see the striping on the sides!
Yup! Individual letters.
I don’t know how much they cost to buy trade, but the hassle he must have had must have come close to the (I THINK) quoted £75.
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
-
About 150 individual letters at 40p each from Halfords gets him into £60 :lol1: Letters may be cheaper not sure but what a wonker.
-
I think he made good use of "fit text to Path" 😀 😉

shouldn’t that read dial-a-prat !
seriously. . I think he’s gone for the delboy look. .. reckon at £60 thats half the value of his van !
-
”You never get a second chance to make a first impression” springs to mind
absolutely incredible 😕
-
Thats a stroke of genious the way he has lined the St Georges cross sticker in the back window with the red striped running along the doors :lol1:
-
im sorry if i sound harsh, but people that are so tight deserve to fail in business. how can he expect anyone o take his business seriously if he doesnt himself.
cowboy/pikey/chancer/whatever… 😕
-
very eye catching!!!
Design must have taken ages… :vomit:Ade

Nice work! I wish I could reach the same levels of quality in design and fitting.
Please note: don’t blame the plotter, blame the user.
In danger of repeating myself yet again, I’ve had a cheapo chinese plotter for 2.5 years. I intended to buy a graphtec once it wore out and business got a bit more regular but it refuses to die. It works like a dog all day every day, never complains, never let me down, cuts beautifully, cost very little to buy. I suppose I must have been lucky.
-
maybe he owns a plotter with tracking issues.. 😛
his designer also has designer issues….
and the fitter just has….well, problems!i agree with Gareth on the so called cheapo chinese plotter issue..
graphtec or wabbit its CRAP work really!!!
dont blame the tools blame the tool who fitted it :lol1:Ade

i personally thought it was SWEET !!
Keri said "look at the F**ck**g state of that "
don’t know what shes on about 😕
-
And that’s coming from Santa! (He does look p*ssed though!)
-
I might ring him on the number on the van and tell him it’s sh*t!
-
Just tried the number. Poxy fax. Hoping to get the answer machine but no luck. I’ll try again tomorrow!
-
Karl – I wouldn’t have thought the fact he has rubbish signs on his van entitles you to phone him up and insult him (especially after 10pm in the evening).
-
I wasn’t going to insult him. I was going to ask where he got such a fine job done and ask If I could have the number. Crikey, bite me head off!
-
quote KARL WILLIAMS:I might ring him on the number on the van and tell him it’s sh*t!
then followed on with, but for £*** ill do it right for you :lol1: :lol1:
-
It”ll be hard but i’d give it a go! work like that is hard to beat! 😀 😀 😀
5 quid should do it! -
It’s not really this guys fault, the design was done by his web designer who thought what Lorraine had done was very amateurish :lol1:
-
Karl his petrol consumption would be horrendous with that stuck on his roof 😮
-
If they don’t start paying up soon It’ll get stuck up his a*rse! 😮 😮

If you don’t mind Lorraine, I’d love to use this photo in my next news letter I’m doing now?
Is that OK?
-
Thats shocking :lol1: :lol1: I wonder how much it cost him :lol1:
-
Don’t tell me Shane, you write for an auto magazine and are always on the look out for new suppliers of car spares :lol1:

Hi Shane, do what you like with it! (If you were in the UK I would say blank the tel. no., just in case another Karl gets it into his head to phone up, but I don’t suppose anyone in Australia will bother!) 😛 😛 😛
-
Thx. Aussies are too tight to ring international calls for anything but a quick hi – bye :lol1: (although my letter goes world wide)
-
This is hilarious, absolutely hilarious.
Rob is absolutely right, not only does someone who thinks so little of his business deserve to fail, he no doubt will – what actually goes on in his head?. I find it insulting as a potential customer that he thinks someone might be so taken by it to phone him.
Needless to say – if you think good signs cost you money – just think what bad signs you!!
-
oh what a gem! even if you squint with one eye closed it don’t look good this guy/van lives on the same street as my old man and he has to look at it most days if it gets parked near his place poor sod! was going to pop round and see if he wanted an emulsion respray ha ha :lol1: you just can’t help some people what a tw*t
