newer version of illustrator

Can anyone change a file back to something I can open please.
I updated recently but only to illustrator cs3 because I was getting the:
Cant open file, newer version of illustrator problem
and its catching up with me again……….. 🙁
File is to big to upload. 1.64mb so I would have to email it to someone!

Try creating a new document in CS3, and then placing the file into it. This often works
to open newer file versions into older versions of CS. You can then save as a CS3 file. -

Tried it and you were right it did open but there is only a bounding box!
Might be a security thing?
Anyone out there got anything newer than cs3?
