Hello all, just joined the group. I’m trying to keep in touch with the trade and the people in it as I WAS a Fineline Converting (or AUTAC) employee until a couple of weeks ago! Now I’m just a highly skilled loafer. Whinge, whinge, whinge…..

I was originating artwork for production: dome badges, vehicle liveries etc. We made an LOT of Police car kits, could hardly keep up with it in fact.

    Hi Andrew,

Welcome to the UKSignBoards. I’m sorry to hear of your situation and hope ou find gainful employment real soon – maybe even from someone on the boards? Or are you considering doing your own thing?

I’d never had any dealing with your previous employer though I’m aware of the name. How did it all come to this. If they were that busy was it bad management or was the customer base shifting?

Anyway, good luck and you’re very welcome to keep in touch here.

    more soon

I wouldn’t like to comment openly on the financial/business setup of the company. I’m no business expert and it’s all a bit over my head to be honest. Regardless of my employment situation, I do hope that the “boss” gets the company back in whatever form he can. He did genuinely believe in what he was doing and the products we had all worked hard to develop in recent years were a great success.

I wouldn’t mind getting my pencil case back though.

    😉
