Had a sales rep pop in today out of the blue, I don’t his name, or the company as he didn’t leave a card 🙁

Anyway this guy is selling cheap vinyl, wrapping films and digital vinyl.

All cast vinyl… you know the stuff "that you need to heat up to activate the adhesive".

Their digital vinyl comes with air escape and a matching laminate, however "the laminate doesn’t come with air escape so needs to be applied wet"

The deal clencher was that all these materials are backed by a 5year manufacturers gurantee!!! (I wish I had got a card)

Perhaps 3m & avery have missed a trick here with wet application wrap laminates & heat activated adhesive!

Can we really blame these cowboy sign companies when there are equally as bad ‘suppliers’ out to make a quick buck?

I had a guy like that around our way – sent him packing decided that our hard earnt reputation was worth more than taking a chance on some dodgy vinyl

Years ago, just before BP light brigade went bust, they sold me MD5 equivalent vinyl. I did 3 vans for a client. 6 months later vinyl started shrinking. BP light brigade where no longer trading. I re-did the vans free of charge with MD5.
    It is not worthed.

We have been lured in by cheaper vinyl, one roll is going back to the supplier as it’s not got an even gloss across the media!

We have a roll of Oracal 3164, which has its place for some jobs, once this roll has gone we’re going back to metamark md100/MD3 as we have never had an issue with their vinyl.

We have always stuck with MD5 for vehicles etc.
