• New Plotter Today!

Posted by Jill Marie Welsh on November 13, 2009 at 5:27 pm

As mentioned in another post, I am supposed to be getting a
    http://www.graphtecamerica.com/ce5000series.html
24" plotter today. Also got the pounce attachment.
Supposedly it is plug-n-play but if it turns out to be plug-n-pray I will ask for help.
I have been running a 20 yr old Gerber 4E via GA 6.2.
It has been limping along rather sadly since about July.
I suppose I will be using the software they provide, along with Corel 12.
I am sure you will hear some grumbling from me.
Why a small cutter? I didn’t want to have to deal with big rolls of material.
I have heard from a friend that I will hate it the first few days but then I will wonder what took me so long.
    Love….Jill

Have the same one myself Jill, you won’t regret it. Took a bot of help from on here to get going but I havent had an issue or problem since.
Best of luck and health and wealth with it. Isn’t it great when the Sanity Clause comes early? 😀

thing is, the value of your gerber 4e is likely to be the same as the graphtec to pair it up to the Edge. So thats always something to consider.

best of luck jill… these are great machines….
ill give you a couple of week to settle with it. trust me though… you will wonder how you did without it. it will be blistering fast in comparison to your old gerber.

and feel free to ask all you wish… its why this place exists. 😀

Jumping from a 4e to a Graphtec…..be like hopping off a skateboard into a Farrari. Enjoy your new toy Jill. 😉

Hope you enjoy your Graphtec Jill, great piece of kit. I’ve had the CE3000 for a few years now and works a treat.

Let me know how you get on with the pounce attachment, if it’s available for the 3000 I may get one.

    Don’t trash the 4E though it’s an antique………bit like myself 🙁

    It finally came today.
Justis assembled the stand and even I was able to install the software.
If it is possible to have an orgasm over how cleanly and quickly a plotter cuts, I am having one.
    (hot)
I cannot believe I waited so long to get a new plotter.

:lol1: that’s great news jill… the cutter doing you proud, not the orgasm. 😳 :lol1:

you will wonder how you ever managed before on the time savings alone…
