  • New graphics on our shutter doors

Posted by David McDonald on June 16, 2015 at 7:56 pm

    Hi All

See attached our updated shutter door graphics. I know this type of thing has been done before but think our Designer has done a pretty good job in getting it to look effective. Its a shame no passing traffic can see it but all our visitors will see it before they call in.

    Cheers

Nice work David, it can be hard getting the scale of objects right at that size but it looks spot on

Fantastic – but what I want to know is how did you get the plane inside when it’s bigger than the roller shutter doors? Or did you build the plane inside…. in which case…. how’re you going to get it out? 😕

    Hi All

    Thanks for the comments.

Being honest the back doors are huge and we just reversed the plane in.

Martin – I’d like to stick some photos on as we’ve got the unit all kitted out really well, however, I’m paranoid about competition so don’t really want to ! Sorry.

    Cheers

    That’s awesome David…

It took us all a few minutes to realise the scaffolding and guys were printed… and not installing the vinyl to the door 😳

Now that’s given us some ideas to liven our place up!

Great work as always David, well done!
I think things like this can inspire customers… in they come to drop off a van to be lettered, spot this and next thing you have a sale at their place doing similar on a wall.

thank you for taking the time to show your work mate.

Nice job, we were only talking about doing. Similar thing on our new shop, but smaller scale lol.

    Are all roller shutters suitable?
Do you fit, then slice the vinyl so you end up with outs of long stripes

    Hi Denise

The slats on our shutters are each about 4ft tall – not really roller shutters as such – the whole door sort of angles up into the roof space as it opens, hence we just printed each slat as a separate tile. We have done smaller scale shutters for customers in the past and have applied the whole graphic and then sliced is as you suggest.

Denise, not all roller shutters are created equal, not all are really suitable for vinyl application plus there is also the usual problems of age & condition. I would do a test, print a smallish strip & try applying to one of the not so good areas of the shutter to see how it goes on & holds up :lol1: :lol1:
