well its 4am and we have just finished the first step of the new features on the site.
fileswapping should now be allot easier as we have added many more file types. and altered the way files are veiwed and loaded etc.
try a test to see for yourself… add to this thread if you like…
let me know what you think?

we have new parts still to be worked on like self sizing images that are loaded too wide.. so the site will autoajust these to suit veiwable size of 600 pixals wide. thats srt of thing…

illl tell you more later when i get some sleep… 😮 😕 😉

Allowed Extension Groups and their Sizes
Archives -> Maximum Upload Size: 256 KB
ace gtar gz rar tar ttf zip

Documents -> Maximum Upload Size: 256 KB
ai doc dot eps pdf ppt xls

Images -> Maximum Upload Size: 256 KB
bmp gif jpeg jpg png tga tif

if you have any file types i have missed please advise… if you think file size is far too small let me know and ill increase.
basicaly any thoughts on how to improve this section, please say now and we will….

    Hi Rob,
Your’e probably still in the land of nod after the site upgrade, but have you actually reduced the file size allowed? I uploded ‘ramones’ eps last night and that was 350k.
These 15 minute jobs always take longer though, dont they!
    BTW im now .com

i think its been at 350 for god knows how long mate… ive not heard of any complaints so far on file size restriction but if you think we would benifit from upping it more, i honestly do not mind. i just like to keep it low to prevent it being abused, but at the end of the day, bigger files are needed then their needed, and up it goes 😉

i will be adding video extensions tonight i think… this will allow me to keep the video files in the right places and no need for me to email links to anyone. it allows me to keep an eye on how many times they are download and whos downloading that kinda thing…
having said that, it wont be for everyone to load them, as things could get right outa hand… signmakers wives and the like 😉 :lol1: ahem….

I was only joking guvner, honest 😀 Just checked various files, and you’re right, very few files you’d upload are much more than 3-400kb. Just sounds low because we all have gazillion gig hard drives I s’pose, I still think I’m using a spectrum most days. 😳 Its a sanity thing mate 😳

hi mort, ive just added cdl and cdr….

i think in the past the reason i havent had these was because they limit the file being shared to only users with say, signlab or corel draw.
if we all export as .ai almost everyone can use the file.

ive added the cdl and cdr anyway, if you/anyone thinks it would be best as only .ai .eps for vector files that can be shared all round.. let me know and i can change it again. 😉

Nah, leave teh CDR in mate, imagine the look on Outline’s face! :lol1: :lol1: He’ll have to drink twice as much this christmas to cope with Signlab and CorelDRAW files 🙄 Christmas card anyone? 😀

Seriously though, there are alot of ppl using the CorelDRAW format (and yep, biased because I use it) but it is useful as an extension I reckon. Its sometimes a pain when AI files don’t open in CD, or when you can’t import an EPS for whatever reason.

Can we attach WMV files now then? 😛
