new boy saying a belated hello
afternoon all,
just thought that I should say hello to everyone after lurking around the forum for a while. I’ve worked in the sign trade for 18 years now, started fitting Happy Eater signs and worked my way up the ladder – what an awful pun that was! – from there progressing from the fitting side of the business through to the technical sales side. I’ve always worked for the big boys (Pearce, Blaze & Hawes) and never had the guts to follow in your footsteps and go it alone but can’t believe the quality of the work posted on here.
We (the ‘big’ sign companies) seem to look down on the sole trader or small local sign shop and consider them lesser companies but I think that the passion and commitment not to mention design flair shown by people on the forum here would put many of my colleagues to shame.
Now that I’ve managed to annoy everyone out there I’ll try to make amends by offering to help with any manufacturing or installation questions you may have.

Pearce signs! They’re on the corner of the road leading into Ramsgate aren’t they. Seem to remember them from my old camping days at a campsite near Manstead airport

Sorry about the delay in replying but I’ve been real busy and now I’nm trying to catch up! 🙂 Been here myself for a year and its a great board. The sign industry wouldn’t have the big boys without the small ones, that’s where they come from!
