I have one too mate, DIY job though but works a treat.
Where did you get your line bender from Kev?
-
Got it from Rotobend on a whim, just trying to think of other uses for it

Looks great.
Can I ask which model you went for? Have looked at these in the past.

I’ve been looking at buying one since i went to the Las Vegas Sign Expo last year.
they had lots of impressive line benders. nothing i would really have a use for as its just occasional stuff we require one. but do come in handy, like just now with sneeze screens as you have shown. -

I believe its a budget model they’ve developed to cater for the covid crisis, cheaper than their usual ones but £600 odd + vat, a bit pricier than I would have liked. Still, made a few of them today so shouldn’t take long to break even

Good to hear!
I’ve no real use for one at the moment but like the idea of being able to mess around bending things!
I suspect it’s something you will find more uses for now you have it than would usually have been apparent.

We’ve got a 600mm one – not really long enough for the screens.
More importantly – where are you getting your acrylic from Kev??? I’m struggling to find anything. -
I still get a bit from Amari & Pyramid but hopefully the mills will start getting in out soon, like hens teeth at the minute. I’m not looking at supplying the UK, just for my own client base really. I have seen some truly dreadful looking ones out there, look more dangerous than the virus.
We can fold up to 1200mm & 10mm acrylic is about its limit, grew a beard waiting for it to heat that. -

Everybody should see it once, then it should be burned to the ground. Going back there as soon as the planes are back up

OMG I hate you Kev.
Nevermind the great acrylic screen, I’m now thinking how rubbish my workshop looks compared to your place.
On another note, how did you build that curved wooden piece. I love it.
-
Believe me Dan, that’s just the bit Joe public sees, the reality behind the door to the workshop is truly horrific.
That was done with a jigsaw & a tack gun, nothing too involved mate. -
Counter looks great :claps:
For you guys contemplating one for the odd panel here and there, a straight edge, couple of clamps and a heat gun will have an acrylic panel bent in a jiffy

An update to the screen situation, made 4 last week for a motor parts counter, had a call this morning from the client saying they were great but, more than a few instances where customers were leaning across the counter & behind the screen to talk to the assistant face to face! We have to go back now to fill in the spaces between the screens with foamex, forcing the customers to stand in front of the screens.
It won’t be a virus that ends the human race, it will be downright stupidity.
