• Neon Signs

Here a couple more bits of neon gone up over the past few days.

Offshore is built up stainless steel letters with halo illumination, the text below exposed neon, all mounted to a 7m long timber planked sign board cut the shape of a surf board.

Indian building delineated in green neon tubing, indian text 800mm high double outline clear red neon, with dibond backing letters, standing up on the flat roof.

must apologise for my piccies its always too dark when i get round to taking them, and the light plays hell with the exposure. Just glad i’m better at bending neon than i am at photographing it.

signs look great mate.. love this type of stuff.
in your opinion. do you prefer something like a s/steel built up with halo
    or a neon letterered sign?
just curious as i always think neon looks amazing at night but dirty sorta horrible in the day.
with this in mind, should a chip shop that opens during the day have a neon sign or the s/steel type that works day and night. obviously the s/steel is just an example. 🙄
would do you advise whne asked by customer?

again not being nosey, just like your opinion as you bend the neon, amongst other types of signage. 🙄 😉

when specifying neon or any other type of signage, there are obviously many factors involved, such as primary trading hours as you mention, ambient light etc.
So if i were looking at the chip shop that only opens in the day then i wouldn’t advise neon, well at least not for its main sign.
On the question of my preference without a doubt in general signage i prefer built up stainless either halo of face lit.
although for the right location ie amusements, nightclubs etc. a nice neon sign can’t be beaten.
Having said that i always manage to get a bit of glass in a sign somewhere 🙂
