Neon Craft appear on TV
Neon Craft Ltd of Leeds was recently featured on the BBC’s television program Look North. As many will know by now, UKSB regular Chris Timmerson and Pete Bikerstaff run Neon Craft and have been contributing to Signextra over the last couple of months…

Well done Chris and Pete, you must be pleased to have appeared on TV?
If you don’t mind me asking, How did it come about. Did you approach the BBC or vice versa?by the way rob, where the hell is the magazine, i couldn’t see it. 😕 i thought someone would have spotted it by now, especially after 80 odd views today.

We approached the BBC, mainly over Led & Neon, they thought it was a good story and it all happened from there, clue for you look in the background when I’m bending glass and you’ll see the answer.

There isnt an actual magazine in the vid …. look on the wall in the background at the start of the movie …. you will see an enlarged version of the front page of a certain mag …. Sign Directions.

Yep, it is an enlarged front cover of Sign Directions Magazine just behind Chris in the video. As has been said, Chris and Peter were featured on the front cover some months back.

yep that was great Chris and Pete .Really interesting .I think these signs look far superior to LED. Just a quick question if you happen to be watching .How do they get there individual colour ?

Colour is determined by either fluorescent powders or gas colour, Neon Gas when in a clear glass tube burns red, put it in a powder coated blue tube it makes the colour pink, in a green tube makes it amber, but a fluorescent tube can be many different colours when Argon + mercury are used total colours of the rainbow and many shades in between probably about 15 different shades of white all available in diameters from 6mm to 25mm.
