Need advice on removing Application Tape…
Posted by John Mackenzie on April 16, 2009 at 10:29 amI fitted a logo to a trailer whilst it was raining and because the logo consisted of thin type I left the application tape on whilst I fitted other logos. I forgot to take the tape off before I left and now my customer has rang me and said that it is impossible to remove the application tape.
I used Hexis Conform application tape.

Tell him to use a blow torch to set fire to the tape – that’ll remove it :lol1: :lol1:
(You must have known I would rise to the bait) 😉

Hi and :welcome: (You get a far more constructive response if you post an introduction first) …… on second thoughts though 😀 😀 😀
You could try telling him its an over-laminate for added protection 😮

I had a similar problem with customer leaving out in sun for weeks on end before removing tape. Had to pressure wash pretty close to take off top layer, and then use scrubbing brush with glue remover to take the rest off. Pretty hard work though. Mine was on a print though, but in your case with thinly cut vinyl you will be taking the vinyl back off too. If you do a search you may find my post somewhere.

Sorry I didn’t realise it was a dating forum!
I’m 38, married with kids, have my own teeth and I’m looking for fun…
EDIT: Cheers Alistair I’ll let my customer know.

Hi there,
The adhesive has emulsified and will now be virtually impossible to remove , all paper tapes will act in this way when outside , you will need to strip it all off which wont be easy and start again.
If someone knows how to avoid this it would be handy to know.
Cheers
