Hi all need a little assistance finding a vinyl to suit a particular need:

it needs to be suitable to be printed on through our versacamm
it needs to be capable of adhereing to plastic similar to motorcyle mudguards etc.
it needs to be a cast vinyl able to conform to curved, non flat surfaces.

I have tried a couple of oracal products and graffywrap, but non seem to stick very well.

    any ideas anyone

    cheers

    HI There,

You wont get something that ticks all the boxes, i am aware of someone with a Roland that has printed Oracal hi-tack (rubber adhesive for low energy surfaces) on one of their machines , this would help with the first two requests , you wont find a cast vinyl with this type of adhesive, Oracal 3951 is one of many digital cast vinyls for the VersaCamm.

    Cheers

hi cammy, thanks for the reply.

i have used 3951 but not sticky enough, and seems to shatter on contact, when cold.

we are currently experimenting with oracal hi tack, i think it is 1280, and is a little thicker than 3951

the versacamm seems to handle it okay, and we add to the thickness and appearance by laminating it when printed.

it also conforms to the uneven surfaces okay and stretches fine with a little heat.
