Hi all, I am just about starting mug sublimation printing, so I am playing around with corel draw. Please can you help me with how you get the graphic to be the dimensions needed for printing on a mug. i.e do u have to change the properties of the page or what. Does anywhere give tutorials on this? Is their better software to use? How can i be sure of the dimensions used? Please your help will be appreciated.

    My Advice (simple it is):

Your printing on A4 paper if you change the paper size to that of the mug then your not going to get much use of your paper (you should be able to get 3 mug prints on an A4 sheet)

Instead measure the size of your mug top to bottom, make sure this is compatable with the pressable area of your mug press. using a tape measure measure around the mug, again check this with the specifications of your press. Once you have these figure use them to draw a box on your screen with a wire frame NO fill, now all you have to do is fit your design into this box, print and cut it out.

What you do have to be careful of is no uniform shapes and circles as these will distort so you will need to have a play about and maybe distort it abit before printing so it looks right when printed

    Hi Lorraine,
with Correll draw, presumably you draw 3 of these boxes to get three images on a sheet? Can you then import an image file into it? I’m a bit green here 😮

Are you saying no straight lines top and bottom Lorraine? I used to avoid these in favour of random designs until I realised the the Mugs I had were from a bad batch and being slightly conical would never line up. Most of the Mugs I’ve bought recently are fine now.
