We was at Viscom and the people on the stand could not speak english so was very broken conversation, I just looked over the website and we was demonstrated this printer and it does print really nice colours with some fluid based ink and it is cured with a hot-air gun. See video to see what I mean, this machine is a Roland Soljet converted to a flatbed.

Now, does anyone know about the ink they are using?
    Anyone seen any competitors?
Anyone know anything more, like a customer who has this machine?

The throughput is the worrying thing, if we bought it we need good throughput.

    Which Roland model is this?

Very interesting. Convert an already proven machine.

It would be interesting to see what they have kept from the original machine.

What sort of price are these printers?

well i saw it at the show, i think they basically are changing the drive so they can go up a table. Doesn’t sound that hard.
    Also a head raising mechanism.

I have no idea, but the word on the street is that Acrylic inks (if someone can get them to work effectively) will be the next big boy on the block. Cheaper, environmentally friendly, easy to clean down boards and re-use, apparently the list goes on.

I’m not sure if this is, but it would be the first time i’ve seen it actually working.

    I’d like to know more.
