  • Moulded Letters – suppliers?

Posted by David McDonald on November 22, 2004 at 11:55 pm

    Hi All

I’m after a supplier of moulded / flat cut letters.

Have trawled previous posts and can see Accent in Birmingham are recommended often. Anyone else worth taking a look at?

    Cheers
    Dave

Can’t really recommend anyone but Accent, they do a top job. Templates are always spot on and the letters are very good quality. I know the prices of the letters add up very quickly but for the sheer simplicity of ordering letters & template, then popping it onto a wall or sign blank, they get my vote everytime.

For Moulded lettering I would stick with Accent Signs .

D’signs (sorry – I don’t have their contact details handy) are good for flat cut lettering – fast turnaround at a good price.

accent is a good choice. i use them for a few reasons. they have been on the go for many years, give a proffessional service and only use top brands of perspex.
there are others on the go, but even the gold perspex they offer fades 😮
    never mind, reds, yellows etc..

    just my opinion 🙄

I used to use NeoCrylics who served me well for many a year
Unfortunately I get the feeling they have no time for the small guy
Their last quote was somewhere on Jupiter

Right next to my local hardware no doubt John, you wouldn’t believe the amount they charged me for a bit of beading and a tub of filler the other day! I was a little more than miffed as I’ve been a faithful customer for some time and never once complained about the likes of warped timber, broken tiles and various other things the average customer would have whinged about 🙁

i was stuck out on a job one day.. our screws didnt reach a section of wall i wanted to attach a part of a sign too. i went into plumbline supplies asked for 4no. 3.5inch screws. they said they only had brass ones or something like that. i said fine, i only need 2 but 4 just incase. ….ok sir… that is £8.50 😮
i had to bloody buy them too, as we were miles from anything and it was getting dark 😕

    Crying out loud!

    Were they dipped in gold?

Had to buy some anchor bolts at £2 a stretch from a local near to where I was erecting a projecting sign

When your in a tight situation you don’t argue as time is of the essence
    Your willing to pay
I guess in most cases your just happy the local shop just happens to have the very thing your after and your willing to part with good cash to get it
